Jewish Student Center

Over 7000 students study in universities and colleges around Pinsk. Current statistics estimate that close to 5% of these students are Jewish. At the beginning of this year, R Yisroel Kochus and R Shlomie Pilchick decided to start working on this incredible source of yiddishe neshomos.

After much work and preparation the JSC officially started it's advertising campaign at the Pinsk Chanuka Concert. Over 150 flyers were handed out over the course of the evening and within three days over 15 students had signed up.

The goal of the JSC is to provide a "home away from home" for the Jewish students of Pinsk. We are in the process of raising funds to set up the center. The plans include a computer room, kosher kitchen, lecture room and lounge. The cost of the center is close to $100,000.

The JSC is starting by running weekly shiurim for boys and girls. The first shiur was attended by 10 girls - all of whom expressed interested in continuing to attend our pogram and to bring their friends with.
